I installed the Windows Server using one of your mirror links.  However, the windows server is shutting down every hour.  I was told it's because I didn't get a  license key for the 180 evaluation period.  Where do I get the key?

Thanks!

How long ago did you install the template?

You can easily check the status of your Windows installation using the Server Manager once you have logged into Server 2016.

I installed it 4 days ago.

I think my issue is this one:  http://windowsitpro.com/blog/windows-server-2012-r2-evaluation-edition-shuts-down-every-hour

But where do I get the key from?

As it is an evaluation you need only to activate via the ServerManager, there isn't a key you can input.

It's activated but still shuts down every hour or so.

Check your Windows event logs (Event Viewer), it should provide the shutdown messages you need to diagnose further.

Was finally able to fix the issue by getting an evaluation key from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-windows-server-2016-essentials

Would you mind elaborating on exactly what you did?

Did you end up putting in a key or otherwise?

Simply registering to download the evaluation would have zero impact on your Microsoft Windows installation.
